Cascade Attachments - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop in the beginning hiring four people. Sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Throughout 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to forty employees and their yearly sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is one of the top worldwide producers in the material handling trade.
Manufacture and design of the company's very first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of better business opportunities. During the last 60 years, the material handling industry has matured into a highly complex field and Cascade has proudly performed a part in this progress. Cascade currently continues to grow as the best provider of lift truck attachments and various associated items. The company feels certain in their ability so as to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the global market.
Through the nineteen fifties, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was made in the year 1956, so as to accommodate all the plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current center of operations. After 15 years of business, total workers reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached nearly two million three hundred thousand dollars.
The next manufacturing plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ventura. 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the international world of the material handling industry while the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
The company changed its name to Cascade Corporation in the year 1964. In the year 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its production facilities throughout the United States with places in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ventura. Cascade products are manufactured internationally thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and the year 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of 5 firms, together with the international best in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
